Bethel Christian Fellowship

Let us introduce ourselves ...

Like most people, we find ourselves in need of wisdom and love that often stretches us beyond our own resources. Because of this, we have found it important to set aside a few hours each week to worship God and learn from His Word. In our Sunday School and worship services, all of us learn principles for Christian living, not just for Sunday but also for every day of the week.

We are discovering a source of strength and joy through the support that we can offer one another. It is a great encouragement to be with people from a variety of backgrounds who truly care about each other. We are being challenged by the wisdom of older Christians and the enthusiasm of the young. It has also been comforting to receive encouragement and support from friends in times of need.

Our families find that as we come together to worship God and learn from His Word, we are developing a sense of community because of our common faith. As a result, we are strengthened in our commitment to God and to each other. New answers to family needs are revealed to us as God's Word is faithfully taught.

All of the benefits we enjoy are based on our commitment to Jesus Christ and the Word of God. We believe, as the Bible teaches, that the holy and loving God has created us for the purpose of communion with him — to honor, love, and fellowship with Him. However, each one of us had to first realize that such a personal relationship with God could not be inherited or earned on the basis of one's own merits.

The Bible tells us that what has separated us from God is our sin: "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). We're further told that "sin is lawlessness" (1 John 3:4), which means refusing to do what God commands and determining to do what He forbids. The consequences of our sin is the judgment of a holy God: "for the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). This is not only physical death but one that is spiritual and eternal as well.

But the Good News is that "God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Because of God's love, He sent Christ as the payment for sin, enduring God's judgment for it in His death on the cross. When we turn from our sin and trust in what Christ has done, our sins are forgiven. We also receive His righteousness and are thereby reconciled to God. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Cor. 5:21).

By putting your trust in the Lord Jesus in this way, you too can become a part of God's family and enjoy this personal relationship with Him. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:12-13).

We welcome you to share the joy we have found! We sincerely want to be your friend in the community!
